19 year-old Jeremy Pepito wins 3 times in LANORTEMAN

Lanao del Norte is situated in Northern Mindanao, along the northwest and southwest coast of the Mindanao Island. Its boundaries include Iligan Bay on the North, the provinces of Lanao del Sur and Bukidnon to the East, Illana Bay and the Celebes Sea to the South and Southwest, and the province of Zamboanga del Sur and Panguil Bay to the West, with the province of Misamis Occidental on the opposite side of Panguil Bay, where the home of LANORTEMAN.

A 19 year old student of Misamis University, Ozamiz City, starting off his year making the history, MOAB represent Jeremy Pepito got his 3 times in a row to the spot of a Champion in sprint category LANORTEMAN with finished time of 1 hour and 10 minutes last April 8, 2018. After a smart and conservative race strategy that brought his through the 750m swim, 20k bike and 5k run, Jeremy gave everything he has on the final lap of the run to earn the champion and his 3 times victory of LANORTEMAN. When Jeremy lined up at the start of his race last weekend, he didn’t know what to expect. He was nervous and excited but mostly determined to finish the 16 miles swim, bike and run race.

“Everytime i race I felt nervous to do it with a larger group of people in a larger body of water,” he said. “I was scared I was going to get hit or kicked, so I just had to focus.”

After a great swim, he was set to tackle whatever challenges awaited his on the bike and run course.

“It’s funny because I’m a runner, yet the run was the most uncomfortable part for me,” he said, with a laugh. “It was hot and really humid.”

“It was definitely one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done,” he said. “When I finally saw the finish line I just wanted to scream ‘I can’t believe I did this.’

“I’m not an elite athlete and I’m not in the best shape in the world, I’m just an average person who just wanted to challenge myself and I was able to finish it.”

For Jeremy highlighted, LANORTEMAN was a great experience and fulfillment, being a student is not easy to trained the 3 discipline race but still he proved that “No matter how many obstacles that are thrown in our path, there are ways to except them and to live through them”. Congrats Jeremy may God give you more strength and wisdom.
