After a smart and conservative race strategy that brought his through the 750m swim, 20k bike and 5k run, Jeremy gave everything he has on the final lap of the run to earn the champion and his 3 times victory of LANORTEMAN. When Jeremy lined up at the start of his race last weekend, he didn’t know what to expect. He was nervous and excited but mostly determined to finish the 16 miles swim, bike and run race.
“Everytime i race I felt nervous to do it with a larger group of people in a larger body of water,” he said. “I was scared I was going to get hit or kicked, so I just had to focus.”
After a great swim, he was set to tackle whatever challenges awaited his on the bike and run course.
“It’s funny because I’m a runner, yet the run was the most uncomfortable part for me,” he said, with a laugh. “It was hot and really humid.”
“It was definitely one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done,” he said. “When I finally saw the finish line I just wanted to scream ‘I can’t believe I did this.’
“I’m not an elite athlete and I’m not in the best shape in the world, I’m just an average person who just wanted to challenge myself and I was able to finish it.”
For Jeremy highlighted, LANORTEMAN was a great experience and fulfillment, being a student is not easy to trained the 3 discipline race but still he proved that “No matter how many obstacles that are thrown in our path, there are ways to except them and to live through them”. Congrats Jeremy may God give you more strength and wisdom.
Mangima is located at Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon also known as the Baguio of the South, with all its zigzaging roads, steep cliffs, and breath-taking vistas! Located along the Mangima Canyon and road known as the Kennon Road by the South, Mangima Canyon Springs and Country Park is a Local Government Unit-operated resort with an area of approximately 6 hectares of hills, mountains and flourishing trees, where the 2nd Mangima Enduro Challenge is held.
MOAB Represent 15 of our ENDURO team mates participated the 2nd Mangima Enduro Challenge last March 11, 2018. The 5 grueling stages with dusty mangima stones led us to rode by instinct, wondering a bit about every little opening in the otherwise impenetrable landscape. Dropping into the more promising but seldom finding more than a quick drop down to a scratchy halt. It was of course pretty entertaining to ride in the chaos and to be able to use our experience as an extreme tester for skill, theories and to see what really really works equipment wise when the conditions are super foul! Looking back… we loved every bit of it, even and maybe especially driving ourselves to our own limit. We finished off the day with laughter, full of adrenaline and fun big thanks to Mr. Renax Lim for the awesome course definitely the best bike park in the region.
Thank you and congrats Mayor Clive D. Quiño & Team Cdo Bikelab headed by Mr. Renax Lim for the fun and successful event. Unlimited berms, drop offs, rockies and jumps is what makes Mangima, Manolo Fortich is one of the best destination for Enduro Biking in Mindanao. SIKAD is a cebuano term for BIKING or as a slang word for biking known for every cebuano dialect.
SIKAD Ozamiz Bike Challenge is an annual event by the Ozamiznon Cyclist enthusiast held during the Feast of Nuestra Señora de la Concepcion del Triumfo (Birhen sa Cotta) on every 16th of July. This cycling competition is one of the highlight events of the festivities. This activity has been initiated by the former City Mayor Reynaldo “Aldong” O. Parojinog Sr., and Atty. ROBERTO “Baraks” A. CANTAGO JR. present city councilor and the founder of SIKAD Ozamiz. The purpose of which is so that our friendly residents in the hinterland barangays will also feel the spirit of city fiesta. It also seeks to extend the festivities to the surrounding provinces and to invite people to visit and experience Ozamiz City and Misamis Occidental.
After hosting a successful national level competition in 2009 and 2010. Again this year 2011 Atty. Cantago initialized the 3rd SIKAD OZAMIZ MOUNTAIN BIKE CHALLENGE. This time however, the newly formed MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL ASSOCIATION OF BIKERS (MOAB) Inc. with PC Supt JORGE CARREON NERI III (Ret) as its president, spearheaded the cycling competition. Since MOAB is a fully accredited and SEC Registered group, it fittingly inherited and in the process incorporated the said activity to its list of annual events.
This year’s 3rd SIKAD Ozamiz was successfully organized through the efforts of visionary MOAB officers and members. The goal was to simply offer biking enthusiast pure fun in a great ride. New and innovative concepts were used and were visibly enjoyed by the 110 competitors who raced the 27 kilometers of all-terrain race route. Next year, the 2012 4rth SIKAD Ozamiz hopes to be more challenging and fun.
